Meet Our People

DIXON TAN, RCDD
Regional Marketing Communication Manager

  • What is your job at Belden ?
My current role is a total switch, from Training & Technical Support which since I started with Belden 6 years ago to Marketing Communication. This role requires close working relationship with GU’s Marcom leaders to understand their concerns and needs. As our products are intangible, to enhance Belden brand family’s image is a much challenging task that requires lots of discernment and comprehension.

I have been fortunate to gain experience over the years and the essential support given to me from our associates in the APAC, US & EMEA. They are a highly capable and dependable team, which I enjoyed working with. The network of colleagues and friends I have made over the years will be an asset to me that I will treasure. Lastly, I have longstanding relationships with many of our key partners & customers, which will hopefully give them confidence that, while there has been a change in my role, the values that have been in place for years will continue.
  • What do you like most about working at Belden ?
Acquiring new knowledge and able to use what I know/learn to impart to colleagues & customers.
  • Can you give any advice for someone interested to work for Belden ?
Strive to know very well things related to our jobs, of course, and maybe a hobby or two. But while it’s important to develop a deep understanding of the things that matter most to us, it is just as important to develop a broad understanding of the marketplace in general.

DAVID BOYLE
Corporate Director, Lean Enterprise

  • What is your job at Belden ?
Corporate Director, Lean Enterprise. Specifically that means building up Lean capability and systems in APAC's non-factory functions like Finance, Marketing and Human Resources.
  • What do you like most about working at Belden ?
One of the drawbacks of advisory work is that you don’t often get to see your Lean improvement programs through to completion; most of the time, other people finish what you start. But in Belden, I realized I can be involved end-to-end in a significant, large- scale Lean transformation.
  • Can you give any advice for someone interested to work for Belden ?
The quality of the people I met – from Sales, Human Resources, the Lean group and APAC leadership – impressed me deeply. I could see these were people out to achieve something distinctive, highly able individuals determined to succeed together. Belden’s people looked like a team worth committing to.
